1. Purpose and role of the platform
Terre du Jura (hereinafter “the Platform”), published by [company name, legal form, share capital, registered office, SIRET number], puts travellers in touch with independent accommodation providers (hikers' lodges, mountain huts, inns, hotels, B&Bs) located along long-distance walking routes. The Platform acts as an intermediary: the accommodation contract is concluded directly between the traveller and each accommodation provider, who remains solely responsible for the service provided.
The Platform does not sell package travel: it does not combine accommodation with other travel services (transport, luggage transfer, activities).
2. Booking
The traveller chooses a route, the date of the first night, the number of people and, for each stage, an available accommodation. Availability is checked in real time; places are held for the duration of the payment.
The booking is firm as soon as payment is confirmed, as evidenced by a summary email containing a personal link giving access to the booking.
3. Prices and payment
- Deposit: a percentage of the price of each night, set by each accommodation provider and displayed before payment, is paid online. Deposits are collected on behalf of the accommodation provider and passed on to them.
- Service fee: the Platform charges a service fee, displayed before payment, as remuneration for the combined booking service.
- Balance: the balance for the nights, the extras (half board, packed lunch, bed linen…) and the tourist tax are paid directly to the accommodation provider, using the payment methods they accept.
Online payments are processed by Stripe. The Platform never has access to your full bank card details.
4. Cancellation by the traveller
Each accommodation provider sets a cancellation period (shown when booking and in the booking area). For any cancellation made via the personal link:
- at least N days before the first night with an accommodation provider (N = that provider's cancellation period): the corresponding deposit is refunded in full;
- after this period: the deposit is retained by the accommodation provider, in accordance with Article L214-1 of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation);
- the service fee is non-refundable, except in the event of cancellation by the accommodation provider or by the Platform.
Failure to arrive without prior cancellation (no-show) results in the loss of the deposit. The accommodation provider may claim the balance under its own terms.
5. Cancellation by the accommodation provider or the Platform
In the event of cancellation by the accommodation provider (closure, force majeure…) or by the Platform, the deposits and service fees for the nights concerned are refunded in full, without prejudice to the traveller's rights against the accommodation provider.
6. Right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article L221-28 12° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services provided on a specific date.
7. Liability
Accommodation descriptions are provided by the accommodation providers. Routes are suggested for guidance only: the traveller remains solely responsible for their own safety, their equipment and for ensuring that the route is suited to their ability and to the weather conditions.
8. Complaints and mediation
Any complaint may be sent to [contact email]. If no amicable solution can be reached, the traveller may refer the matter, free of charge, to the consumer mediator: [name and contact details of the mediator].
9. Governing law
These terms and conditions are governed by French law.
